The Body Expresses, the
Body Perceives
An everyday channel of communication is examined
up close. This practice-oriented body-language
course contains exercises that deal with expression
and perception in communication. Awareness is drawn
to the impact of body language. The exercises enable
emotional and direct access to the topic. They are
oriented towards the concrete circumstances of the
participants’ working lives.
We offer the training program as a closed seminar.
Objective
The seminar expands the personal body-language
repertoire of the participants. They take away
experiences they can implement immediately in their
daily work.
Course of action
Foundation: the program begins with a
practice-linked introduction to the topic. Basic
exercises facilitate “warming up” and getting to
know one another.
Exercises: we focus on specific areas as
necessary. Issues in the past have included
extending personal expressiveness during
presentations, client-oriented non-verbal
communication in the catering industry, or
behavioral options in conflict situations. Examples
of exercise goals are as follows:
- Increasing the ability to concentrate by
consciously using movements
- Synchronization of language and body
language
- Systematic use of volume and pitch of the
voice
- Deciphering the personal strategies of one’s
partner in conversation
- Effects of stress situations on bodily poise
The experience-oriented seminar builds on
participant feedback. Verbal dialog is supplemented
by individual written notes. As well as reflections,
they also contain instructions for continuous
personal training in practice.
Benefit
Seminar participants benefit from an enhanced
consciousness of (their own) body language and an
increased ability to express themselves. The seminar
provides the necessary self-assurance for an
measured and persuasive manner in business life.
Sensitivity for one’s opposite number is trained.
Duration
The seminar lasts one to two days.
